QUALIFICATIONS Education: 

·      Diploma in Inventory Management/ Procurement or Store Management or related field

·      Basic Computer skills, IT certificate is an added advantage

Experience:

·       Proven experience in a similar role for a minimum of two years

  SKILLS

·      Knowledge of Inventory Management and Storekeeping methods and procedures

·      Record keeping and data reconciliation skills

·      Order picking and packing

·      Perfect time management skills

·      Stock control and perpetual inventory procedures

·      Safety issues related to the physical handling of supplies and materials.

·      Must have excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.

COMPUTER SKILL

·       Conversant with Spread Sheets e.g. Microsoft Excel

·      Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Word.

 

 

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE  Keep records of receipt, placement, and issuance of supplies and materials; maintain up-to-date perpetual inventory records; and coordinate with internal consumers to ensure warehousing and logistics of the material.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

·      Receive, inspect, and verify goods being delivered to the warehouse as per the issue and delivery orders

·      Maintain storage of the materials with clear records of stock

·      Issues materials, tools, and equipment supplies as per the request orders made.

·      Monitor stock levels and make requests for replenishing of consumables as per need and upon reaching reorder levels

·      Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as the warehouse procedures set by the company.

·      Coordinate with internal consumers; the PMs and supervisors to ensure the materials are available upon order and delivered to the site

·      Housekeeping of the warehouse and the compound within to ensure it is maintained in a clean and neat standard.

·      Assessing safety hazards and risks around the warehouse and maintaining safety data related to the work environment.

·      Inspection of production equipment and tools to ensure they are safe and fit to work and request for repairs when noted.

·      Presenting safety principles to staff in safety meetings and participating in continuous education on matters of health and safety.

·      In case of incidents and accidents, to give all support needed for the investigation of the same.

·      Creating safety plans that include suggested improvements to existing infrastructure and business processes.

·      Sharing information, suggestions, and observations with the project implementation team to create consistency in safety standards

·      Adhering to the company’s health and safety goals

  • Weekly and monthly physical stock count of goods, tools, equipment and materials.
  • Conduct daily stock updates and share with management

 

 
QMS RESPONSIBILITY

 

The Storekeeper QMS responsibilities are:

  1. Ensure compliance and enforcement to all QMS requirements within the Technical department this includes:
    1. Compliance with the requirements of Kenyan Laws and regulations,
    2. Customer QMS requirements
    3. Powergen QMS requirements and Standards.
  2. Ensure proper documentation, recording, and reporting of all Store processes according to the established SOP
  3. Support reporting of the Technical process QMS performance by internal and external auditors, and regulatory bodies;
  4. Identifying, assessing, and reducing Powergen’s risks and costs within the department continuously.
  5. Liaise with the Technical Services Manager to keep abreast of all applicable legislation and good practice applicable to Technical processes;
  6. Support and aid in the development, management, implementation and continual improvement of the QMS.
